Central Chile - Valparaíso

Valparaiso is the main port of Chile.  From is bay, it is possible to see the city as a multi-coloured amphitheater along its 42 hills.  The city invites to explore it either walking or using buses, or its famous funiculars to ascend to the hills.  Its gastronomy is famous for seafood, accompanied by a pisco sour as and aperitif, and a good glass of Chilean wine from any of its many valleys.  It is the gateway to Santiago, capital of Chile and worth visiting to see its highlights.

This is a city with the driest desert in the world just 25 kilometers away, and also, in the high plateau, you can explore Andean towns with a completely different landscape, and experience the culture of its people.
