North - Iquique

A paradise between beaches and deserts.  This active and charming city has managed to exploit its tourist vocation. It brings together attractions as numerous as diverse, ranging from valuable neighborhoods inherited from the golden age of saltpeter, the largest Free Zone in South America, a beautiful and extensive pedestrianized waterfront and 170 kilometers of beautiful beaches.  In 2001 Iquique was named Culture Capital of America, the first city in Chile to achieve the distinction. Iquique is also known as the ‘New Orleans of South America’, with its mix of cultures and constant activity.
