Puerto Chacabuco is undoubtedly a last frontier port.  Its nature astonishes anyone who goes on tour crossing the Simpson Valley.  For the explorers, a horseback riding, or going fly fishing are also excellent alternatives.  This is the area where the Andes mountains descend to the sea, and break into hundreds of small islets, and you will not believe that you are at the top of the Andes when going to Coyhaique, as it is approximately only 2,100 feet altitude over the sea level.
